NEW ORLEANS (June 24, 2008) – Integrated marketing firm Deveney Communication has won four prestigious International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill awards and was the only Louisiana-based firm recognized by the IABC this year.
The IABC, sponsored this year by Towers Perrin, recognized Deveney Communication as one of the top two winners of the 2008 International Gold Quill Awards, along with global firm Weber Shandwick, which also received four awards.
Deveney Communication received four Gold Quills for efforts and success in three separate campaigns:
• A Gold Quill Government Relations Merit Winner Award was presented for the success of the Touro Infirmary FEMA Regulations campaign.
• The promotion of the New Orleans Museum of Art’s Femme, Femme, Femme: Paintings of Women in French Society from Daumier to Picasso from the Museums of France exhibit won two Gold Quill awards—a Media Relations Excellence Winner award and a Special Events Merit Winner award.
• Deveney Communication was presented a Publications Excellence Winner award for the agency’s Holiday Campaign.
Deveney Communication joined peers from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Slovenia and South Africa as Gold Quill recipients. Winners were honored at an event June 23, and winning entries were displayed during IABC's 2008 international conference at the Hilton New York Hotel in New York City.
For more than 30 years, IABC’s Gold Quill Awards program has been the hallmark of excellence in business communication. Of the many thousands of entries submitted throughout the years, only the most outstanding have been honored with this award.
