Deveney Communication Sweeps Public Relations Society of America New Orleans Chapter Awards
Firm Earns Four Anvil Awards; A first in state’s history
NEW ORLEANS—At this year’s annual Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) annual awards ceremony, New Orleans-based Deveney Communication earned four top-honors, The Anvil Award, the most for an organization in one year. In addition, Deveney Communication was presented twelve other awards in various categories.
Among the awards received, Deveney Communication was awarded four Anvil Awards for campaigns in 2006 and 2007, surpassing the previous state record of two Anvils during one year (also set by Deveney Communication in 2001). Since the firm’s founding in 1996, Deveney has garnered 11 Anvil Awards. The prestigious Anvil Award requires a 96 percent score or better and only one Anvil is awarded in any given category.
Deveney Communication also won awards of excellence and merit in 13 other categories entered including press releases, external relations and special events. Deveney’s perfect score for 2007 is the third instance in which this feat was accomplished in PRSA’s state-wide history. Both previous records for perfect scores were set by Deveney Communication in 2001 and 2000.
PRSA annually presents awards to public relations professionals who demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness and whose winning programs meet the highest standards of research, planning, execution and evaluation. A panel of judges, which includes public relations professionals, selected the 2006 awards and recipients.
