Van Gallinghouse, Sr. Vice President
Van “The Adman”, is a true renaissance man. Not solely because he spent a year studying in Florence, Italy, in his medieval days, but because of his breadth and depth of marketing experience.
Van cut his teeth as a television writer/producer for CBS affiliate WWL-TV in New Orleans where he produced hundreds of TV spots for small advertisers who couldn’t afford an agency. When he wasn’t churning commercials he was pulling cable on the sidelines of Saints games for national CBS broadcasts. Soon after, Van jumped head first into the agency business running his own shop through much of the 90s. In 1997, Van joined Keating Magee and Associates. As President of that firm, Van helped to grow it to one of Louisiana’s largest full-service advertising agencies. In 2003, after 15 years in the traditional agency business, Van and a partner purchased The Netcom Group, a small online agency. In just a few years, Netcom grew to be the largest Internet marketing firm in the state. In 2008, Van sold his interest in Netcom and settled into his consultancy helping clients solve complex sales problems with innovative marketing solutions. After years of partnering with his friend John Deveney on large client projects, Van joined Deveney Communication as Sr. Vice President in January 1, 2011 where he manages a portfolio of great clients and heads up all business development.
Van has guided marketing strategies and tactics for major brands including Carl Zeiss, STERIS Corp, Church’s Chicken, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and the New Orleans Hornets. He has been instrumental in some of Louisiana’s largest business development wins including Super Bowl and Final Four games, the successful effort to secure the NBA Hornets and saving Naval Support Activity, New Orleans largest military instillation, from being closed through the 2005 Federal Defense Base Closure and Realignment (BRAC) Commission.
Van and his “Godsend” wife Gigi have three beautiful young children - Eugenie, Brooks, aka “Payback” and Grayson.
