When Sabrina Trahan is not exercising with Zumba Fitness, she is exercising her communications and public relations skills as an aspiring public relations practitioner. A New Orleans native and student entering her senior year at Louisiana State University, Sabrina is no stranger to PR. Her love for communication began at a young age. Nicknamed “Smiling Sabrina” by many of her peers, Sabrina knew her bubbly personality and optimistic (but realistic) take on life suited her well for the communications field.
She began using her communication talents as a technical writer for LSU’s Information Technology Services’ GROK Knowledge Base. Sabrina then tested the waters of journalism as a news contributing writer for the LSU student-run newspaper and finally landed in public relations during her sophomore year. She spent a summer interning with the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, falling more deeply in love with the city’s culture while battling its negative misperceptions following the BP Oil Spill disaster.
This summer, Sabrina pinned Deveney at the top of her list because of its excellent reputation and coveted Summer Associate position. When she isn’t learning from Deveney’s top-notch professionals or honing her own PR skills, Sabrina spends her spare time maintaining active involvement in Delta Gamma Fraternity where she currently serves as director of public relations. Sabrina can often be found dancing, supporting her boys in black and gold, watching “Glee,” attending music events and playing tourist in her own hometown—and first love—New Orleans.
