Laura Fidelman is a Texas girl through and through. Born and raised in Houston, Laura earned her degree in Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin. For the first time in her life, Laura has moved outside of the great state of Texas to test the waters of Louisiana as a Senior Associate with Deveney Communication.
During her time at school, Laura was an Account Executive for the student run PR Firm, Texas Tower PR. She led a team of associates in communication efforts, including building and maintaining media lists, pitching event coverage to local news outlets and blogging for the Theatre Action Project, a local non-profit. Prior to joining the Deveney team, Laura completed three previous internships with the Sierra Club, the Texas Advanced Computing Center and most recently, Cohn and Wolfe Public Relations. Writing press releases, feature stories, blog entries, coverage reports and the occasional media list, these internships gave Laura the opportunity to apply what she spent four years learning in college. Working with such varied clients as Walmart, Dell Computers and Corner Bakery Cafe, Laura has learned how different products and audiences drastically affect how a message is crafted and communicated.
At Deveney, Fidelman looks forward to expanding her public relations knowledge, particularly in media relations and crisis communication. She is excited about living in New Orleans—and can’t wait to tell all her Texas friends about life in the “Big Easy”.
